The winner of the National Business Success Award, 2014 edition, was announced by jury chairman Steven van Eijck, during the recording of the Final Award Show for RTL7. FreshlightAgri from Apeldoorn received the overall Final Award, after the company had already received the innovation Award earlier in the evening. The Final Award involves a cash prize of 10,000 euros. The Award for the best start-up went to NPEX, the MKB Beurs. Desso received the Award for the greenest company in the Netherlands with its Cradle-to-Cradle vision. The best female CEO award was awarded to Annemarie Dekker, of the Remmers & Dekker printing company. The Final Award Show will be broadcasted on RTL7, Sunday 15 February, 13:55 hrs.
The choice for FreshlightAgri BV was unanimous. Steven van Eijck: 'FreshlightAgri focuses on the poultry sector that is very relevant to the Dutch economy. With an innovative ionization system, FreshlightAgri is able to bring the most optimal air quality into the barn. This greatly improves the well-being of the livestock farmer and the animal. Odors, particulate matter and germs disappear, lung problems are prevented, the use of antibiotics is limited, the animal loss is reduced and the meat yield per chicken is increased.'
Largest annual entrepreneur award on TV
The National Business Success Award is the largest annual open entrepreneurial award in the Netherlands, linked to a weekly television program on RTL7. For the 2014 edition, 290 companies from different industries were nominated by the National Business Success Award Institute. The final jury included Professor Sylvester Eijffinger (Professor of Financial Economics), Hans Reijnierse (SER councilor), Steven van Eijck (chairman of RAI and RvA Banking, Insurance and Securities Companies), Bernd Schneider (inventor, chairman of the jury Best Idea of the Netherlands) and Joan Bassa (CEO Humanwave.nl, formerly Exact).
Final Award Show, February 15 on RTL7
In the Final Award Show, in addition to the Final Award, more than 15 awards in subcategories were presented by the National Business Success Award Institute. The Final Show – including stand-up comedian Gregory Shapiro – will be broadcast on 15 February by RTL7.
